Por segundo año consecutivo ha sido una experiencia memorable. Este año con más profundidad y el mismo cuidado y cariño. Increíblemente, todos nos sentimos acogidos al poco de empezar, tanto los que repetíamos como los que acudían por primera vez. Mil gracias a todo el equipo que lo hace posible, empezando por Jonathan Kirby y Lucy Thomas, pasando por todos los miembros de Kagemusha Taiko y Tano Taiko, los demás voluntarios… Este año, los talleres los impartieron:

* Karen Young, de The Genki Spark. Su taller fue fundamental para conocernos más y compartir nuestras inquietudes, deseos y alegrías del taiko.

* Tiffany Tamaribuchi, una leyenda de trato súper cercano. Su taller nos enseñó a tocar de manera eficiente y evitar lesiones.

* Shoji Kameda, de On Ensemble y KaDon.com. Uno de los máximos impulsores de la comunidad taiko internacional. Su taller exploraba cómo tocar más relajados. Buenísimo.

* Mark H. Rooney. Su taller fue un auténtico «Rompe-cabezas», lleno de desafíos y diversión.

* Eri Uchida y Eiichi Saito, de Kodo 鼓童 . Su taller fue un maravilloso ejercicio de conexión y pura energía.

La ETC es un lugar para conectar, hablar, preguntar, compartir, aprender… un foro de encuentro para luego llevar eso a tu grupo y que esta alegría y conexión se extienda y nos mantenga unidos. Unidos en los diferentes acercamientos al taiko, en los diferentes idiomas, en las diferentes formas de entender la vida. Porque es más lo que nos une que lo que nos separa. Como dice la camiseta diseñada por Karen Young, «We play for Unity» (Tocamos por la unidad). Qué afortunada me siento por haber vivido esta experiencia, ¡y además este año representando a Issho Daiko junto con Andrés y Lola!

Second year and again a memorable experience. This year was deeper and with the same care and love. As incredible as it may seem, we all felt welcomed from the beginning, the newbies as well as the ones who attended for second time. Thank you so much to the fantastic team that made this possible, from Jonathan Kirby and Lucy Thomas to all members in Kagemusha Taiko and Tano Taiko, the rest of volunteers…

* Karen Young, from The Genki Spark. Her workshop was fundamental to know each other better, and to share our worries, goals and joy of taiko.

* Tiffany Tamaribuchi, a legend very approachable. Her workshop taught us to play in the most efficient way, to avoid injuries.

* Shoji Kameda, de On Ensemble y KaDon.com. One of the driving forces of the international taiko community. His workshop went through how to play more relaxed. Awesome.

* Mark H. Rooney. His workshop was a real «Break your mind», full of challenging drills and fun.

* Eri Uchida y Eiichi Saito, de Kodo 鼓童 . Their workshop was a wonderful exercise of connection and pure energy.

ETC is a place to connect, talk, ask, share, learn… A meeting point to take what you’ve experienced to your group, and this joy and connection will keep us united. United in the different approaches to taiko, in our different mother tongues, in our different ways of living life. Because it’s more what keeps us together than what brings us apart. As Karen Young‘s T-shirt says, «We play for Unity». I’m so fortunate to live this experience, moreover this year representing Issho Daiko with Andrés and Lola!
